For peace what really matters is not made of matter.

Once there lived an old man in a faraway town named Wisdomville. The whole town sought wisdom from him. One day a young fellow came to meet him. The old man welcomed him in and asked about the purpose of his visit. He said,

“I am seeking peace but cannot find it. I have a loving and caring partner. I am blessed with wonderful kids. My business is running quite well. But there is something missing.”

The old man listened to him very carefully and instructed him to come the next day. As instructed, the young fellow returned the next morning. Old man’s wife opened the door. As he entered the house he saw that the old man was resolutely looking for something in the living room.

The young fellow asked, “it seems like you have lost something very precious. What is it that you have lost.”

“ My wedding ring”, the old man replied without even looking up.

“If you can tell me where have you dropped it, perhaps I can help you find it.” The young fellow offered his help.

The old man said, “oh I have dropped it somewhere in the bedroom but since it is so dark in there I thought I should look it in here.”

The young fellow was puzzled. He asked, “ if you have lost your ring in the bedroom how do you expect to find it in the living room.”

The old man finally looked up and replied, “ Peace resides within how do you expect to find it outside yourself.”

If you have not found peace yet you might be looking for it in the wrong place.

The entire world is and has always been looking for peace. There are peace committees and teams with the mission to restore peace. But all the effort has ended up in vain and the world is pushed more into darkness because they have no idea where to look.

The body and mind will always remain influenced by it but there is a place beyond that where lies eternal peace. Are you still looking for peace in the wrong place?

All the material resources are very useful and if you manage them well it can bring comfort to your life. But Comfort is not peace. If you have not found peace yet you might be looking for it in the wrong place.

The outside world will always be full of chaos. There is a continuous struggle there. The body and mind will always remain influenced by it but there is a place beyond that where lies eternal peace. Are you still looking for peace in the wrong place?
